Vnder his management the Lrlmlmru-I. became an inuential paper. His Christian spirit. kindness of heart. and his suavitv of manner made him a general favorite. Though I repeatedly offered to pav for the paper. he would accept nothing. With so unselsh a. spirit. he was always in peciiniary straits. Of course he was loved and trusted. In December. 1888. he de- termined to devote his life fully to the ministry. and
