bridge, in Weston, and was killed. His wife su-ed the city, and the
case was compro-mised.
THE IOWA RAILROAD.
An election is held in Marshall a.11d Green Townsuhips to de-
cide whether to take .1560,000. and to i-ssue bonds for that purpo-se.
Two-thirds of the votes cast favored the subscription.
The Lmc-dma.rIcs supplement contains 3,000 tracts for sale for
delinquent taxes.

temper.
July 18Leaven~worth Sunday-s-chools have a. picnic a.t the
fair grounds. Their diversions were sadly marred by the drown-
ing in Platte River of one of the boys, named Charles Byrd. The
water was about 15 feet deep; but James F. Pitt dived down. dis-
covered the body. a11d brought it up.
