1873, MAY. 543 THE NORTONS. Teachers' institute at Platte City; Sutherland superintendent; 53 teachers enrolled. THE NORTON FAMILY May 15 - Mrs. Malinda Norton, the wife of Judge E. H. Norton, died. The Nortons trace their lineage to William F. Norton (i), born in Harrisburg, Pa., September 2, 1781... married Mary Hise, born March 12, 1797, daughter of Frederick Hise, of Westmoreland County Pa. I. GEORGE W. NORTON president of the Southern Bank of Kentucky with Nimrod Long, opened a private bank in Russellville on the 30th of March 1865, the bank was robbed of $9,000 by Jesse James then removed to Louisville, Ky., with his brother W. F. Norton (ii) opened a private bank married Martha S. Henry, dr. of Matthew Winston Henry, of Louisville 1. Ernest J. Norton 2. Juliette Norton 3. Minnie Norton, married W. B. Caldwell 4.
