Jewell College. He is the only citizen of Platte who has re-
ceived that honor.

mus. died a.t his home eight miles southeast of Platte City. He
was born March 10. 1807; md March 10. 1830, Nancy Lynch. born
Ioven1ber 17. 1807. Sh-e suried him. Tthey came to Platte
in 1844. I knew him when a tall, angular. genial, and honora-
ble old man. Children:
