History Note: | In 1857, $10,000 was contributed to build a three story school at this location. Professor Fred Gaylord headed the school beginning in 1866. It was later renamed the Gaylord Institute and remained a school until 1910. The building then remained empty until 1910, when John Radar tore down much of the structure and built a ten room home. The ground floor and first floors are part of the original structure. - |
